ABU DHABI // Eight people have been rescued from road incidents in five police air wing missions.
The Abu Dhabi Police air wing took the injured to Mafraq Hospital. Among them were three young Emirati boys aged between 14 and 17 years, who were injured in a smash in remote Al Khatem.
The air ambulance also airlifted an Indian man from Al Khaznah, on the road to Al Ain from the capital, after his car had skidded out of control. Another person to be rescued was a 17-year-old South African boy who sustained injuries in a motorbike accident in Sweihan.
Two Asian men, aged 32 and 30, had to be rescued after a road incident in Al Tarif, while another Asian man who was run over in Al Ruwais was also taken to Mafraq Hospital.
The air wing department at Abu Dhabi Police conducts a wide range of humanitarian and service missions, including airlifting patients, search and rescue and road surveillance using state-of-the-art equipment and vehicles.
