New electronic speed signs in Abu Dhabi update during hazardous driving conditions

Abu Dhabi Police have completed the installation of new electronic panels and speed signs on main roads in the emirate to warn drivers to reduce speed in hazardous weather conditions.

These will be activated during rain, strong winds, sandstorms, and fog. Panels will flash the speed limit of 80 kilometres an hour and warn motorists to keep a safe distance between vehicles.

Drivers are urged to reduce speed when these panels are activated, Wam news agency reported.

Abu Dhabi Police regularly share videos on social media to warn motorists against breaking traffic rules.

Last week, the force released a video highlighting the dangers of sudden lane changes.

The footage shows a driver cutting in front of another car, causing it to collide with the back of the vehicle and spin into the central reservation.
