Public parking will be free and toll gate charges will be waived in <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/tags/abu-dhabi/" target="_blank">Abu Dhabi</a> for <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/uae/2021/08/08/al-hijri-new-year-when-is-muharram-2021/" target="_blank">Hijri New Year</a>. The emirate's Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) said surface parking spaces – managed under the Mawaqif system – would be free on Thursday, August 12, until 7.59am on Saturday, August 14. The authority said parking spaces in Mussafah industrial area (M18) would be free during the holiday. Motorists will be able to travel free through the Darb toll gates, located at bridges across the capital. ITC urged the public to adhere to the regulations regarding the resident permit parking bays from 9pm to 8am. Officials said public bus services would follow Friday and <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/uae/2021/08/04/long-weekend-as-uaes-next-public-holiday-announced/" target="_blank">holiday</a> timetables.
