The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority has launched a service that aims to reduce the number of lost and stolen mobile devices in the country.
Secure Your Mobile allows mobile users who register to report any lost or stolen device to Etisalat or du.
Within 48 hours, the device will be blocked at no cost, with no calls or messages allowed to be made or received.
The TRA said it collaborated with Etisalat and du to bring users the service, which it describes as the first of its kind for the region.
