SHARJAH // An Arab toddler is fighting for his life after falling from the third-floor balcony of his home.
The one-year-old sustained serious injuries after the fall on Saturday afternoon while the family were inside their apartment.
The incident happened in Al Taawun, Sharjah, at about 2pm.
The boy was transferred to Al Qassimi hospital to receive treatment and an official there said he was currently in a critical condition.
Last year, Sharjah Police launched several awareness campaigns in a bid to end child fall incidents, which occur frequently in the emirate.
Police urged residents to refrain from placing furniture underneath windows and called for parents to secure their windows and balconies to prevent tragic accidents.
