RAS AL KHAIMAH // The Ras Al Khaimah Criminal Court has postponed a case in which three Arabs are being tried for trafficking and possessing five kilograms of hashish and 15,000 Tramadol tablets.
Anti-narcotics police had arrested two of the accused after chasing them in a car coming from a neighbouring emirate. One of the suspects reversed the car and drove against traffic, trying to escape, throwing the drugs out the window, reported Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language newspaper of The National.
The second suspect denied involvement during interrogations, the court heard, saying he did not know about the drugs in the vehicle and was only in the company of the first suspect. He led police to the location where the rest of the drugs had been discarded from the window during the police chase.
The third defendant also denied involvement in the case, saying he did not know the accused and that he was in prison for charges in another case when the event occurred, the court heard.
