DUBAI // Three men have been found guilty of locking up and assaulting a sales assistant.
The Indians, aged between 27 and 34, denied charges of kidnap and confinement but were all convicted and sentenced to three months in jail each by Dubai Criminal Court.
On November 13 last year, they abducted a 27-year-old Bangladeshi from the grocery shop where he worked.
The men said the assault was to apply pressure on a relative who had stolen Dh52,000 from one of the assailants.
The victim said he was beaten, locked up in a room and told to repay the money.
After three days, the men took the victim to Al Ain where he managed to phone a friend who called the police.
