SHARJAH // Three Emiratis have been arrested in connection with the death of a man who fell from the sixth-floor balcony of an apartment building.
The dead Emirati man, believed to be in his 20s, suffered multiple fractures and was found in a pool of his own blood in Al Azra, near Ajman, last Friday.
Police said they believed the man had been involved in a fight over drugs with his friends. All three were arrested, and testing found them all to be under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident.
The body was taken to a police forensic laboratory and a full post-mortem examination report is expected to be released before the end of the week. Police said they are still investigating the man's death and that they would refer the accused to prosecutors once their findings were complete.
Maj Gen Humaid Mohammed al Hudaidi, the director general of Sharjah police, vowed at the start of this year to clamp down on bootlegging and drug-related offences.
