The UAE Embassy in Jakarta and Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation hosted a mass iftar banquet for 3,000 people at Istiqlal Mosque, the largest mosque in South-East Asia, in the presence of a number of local officials.
Iftar banquets are part of a UAE annual tradition of helping the underprivileged. There are currently iftar projects in more than 50 countries.
According to the state news agency, Wam, Walid Al Raisi, adviser to the embassy in Jakarta, said that those who benefited from the aid had expressed their appreciation.
