Technician appears in Dubai court charged with molesting two young sisters

DUBAI // A maintenance technician has appeared in court charged with molesting two young sisters while they played in their building.

The girls’ father told prosecutors at the Dubai Criminal Court that his wife called him on July 13 and told him of the incident.

Saudi investor M A, 39, said he went to the building’s recreation room but could not find the technician. He then went to the building’s security office and demanded to see CCTV camera footage from the room.

“I saw him forcing himself on the girls and chasing them as they ran away from him. He then kissed them and stuck his body to theirs each one at a time,” said M A.

His wife, S M, 38, from Belgium, said that the two girls, J and S, aged below 10, came home after 1pm and were both crying.

“They were crying really hard and when I asked what happened they told me they had been molested,” she said.

After watching camera footage with her husband, S M said the technician, Pakistani S A, 34, confessed that he had molested the girls and asked for forgiveness.

Police were called to the building soon after.

Prosecutors said SA confessed to a charge of molestation.

The verdict in the case will be issued on November 17.
