ABU DHABI // Weather conditions changed quickly on Tuesday afternoon, with strong winds causing blowing dust and poor visibility across the Emirates.
The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology warned against fresh northwesterly winds causing dust and rough seas in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman sea. It reported visibility as low as 1,000 metres in Sweihan and 1,500 metres in some areas such as Al Hamra in Ras Al Khaimah.
Hazy weather, clouds and a slight chance of rain are predicted over the next 24 hours over coastal areas and in the north.
Humidity will also increase over some coastal and internal areas with a chance of mist and fog.
Wind speeds are expected to reach up to 40kph over the sea and 30kph inland.
The centre said clouds would increase over the next two days with rain and strong winds causing more blowing dust and sand.
Temperatures are expected to reach lows of 18°C in Al Ruwais and highs of 34°C in Fujairah and Liwa.
