Six men arrested in Sharjah for stealing gas cylinders

SHARJAH // Six men have been arrested for allegedly stealing expired gas cylinders before refilling and selling them.

Five Afghan men and a Pakistani used a farm in Al Madam to illegally refill the cylinders, police said.

Officers from the central region were tipped-off about the gang and arrested them at the farm.

Police seized 134 cylinders and four scales as well as pipes used to transfer the gas.

The six men have been referred to Al Dhaid Public Prosecution to face trial.

Sharjah police urged residents to only buy gas from authorised dealers to ensure the quality and safety of the product.
