SHARJAH // Dr Sheikh Sultan Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, has issued decrees establishing a new institution and art collection body.

One decree established the Sharjah Collections of Art, a cultural body, while the other established the Sharjah Heritage Institute, state news agency Wam reported on Thursday.

Laws are to be issued regulating the organisations’ objectives, divisions and other affairs.

A third decree from Sheikh Sultan stipulates that Abdul Aziz Al Musalam, director of heritage and cultural affairs at the Department of Culture and Information, will be promoted to head of the department and transferred to the new heritage institution, where he would be chairman.
