Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, ordered the release of 422 prisoners today as a benevolent gesture to mark the occassion of Eid Al Adha.
The prisoners were from different nationalities, serving terms at various reformative and punitive institutions in Dubai.
Dubai's Attorney General, Esam Eissa Al Humaidan, said the Public Prosecution immdiately started the legal procedures to ensure the prisoners could be released before Eid Al Adha on October 26.
The Attorney General thanked Sheikh Mohammed for his noble initiative and urged the released prisoners to lead their lives adhering to religious and moral values.
