ABU DHABI // The capital's housing projects will soon be overseen by a new board, led by Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed, the National Security Adviser.
At a meeting yesterday, Sheikh Hazza, also deputy chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, said the establishment of the new body needed extensive study, the state news agency Wam reported.
Once established, the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority will be a "standpoint for all housing projects in the emirate of Abu Dhabi".
This will ensure that all projects in the emirate follow policies and strategies to ensure all nationals' needs are fulfilled, Wam reported.
"The integrated process of development undertaken by Abu Dhabi takes into account the volume of challenges and the strategic dimensions of the process, as what we are establishing today will be the foundations for the future," Sheikh Hazza said.
"Having done this, we can provide the present and the future generations with dignified living, taking into consideration all changes, which requires awareness and full knowledge that would enable us to come up with the best solutions."
Sheikh Hazza has ordered a comprehensive database for nationals and their housing requirements.
