A main road in the Egyptian resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh will be named after Sheikh Zayed, Founding President of the UAE.
Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Road will open in May, said Maj Gen Khalid Fouda, the governor of South Sinai, the Egyptian governorate where the city is located.
The road, which runs from the airport to the downtown area, will be inaugurated then by Egyptian president Abdel Fattah El Sisi, according to Wam, the state news agency.
The road “is a gift to the nation of peace”, referring to the UAE, Maj Gen Fouda said.
