A delegation from the Higher Committee for the National Programme for Summer Activities visited Sharjah and was briefed on the activities and events organised for people with special needs as part of the ‘Sayf Beladi’, or ‘My UAE Summer’ 2015, event.
Organised by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development and the General Authority for Youth and Sport, Sayf Beladi was held at various centres around the emirate.
Khaled Al Midfaa, chairman of the committee, said the programme involved cooperation among various ministries and public and private institutions to organise events that attract the maximum number of Emiratis and not overlook people with special needs and grant them access to various locations.
He added that this year, many institutions providing services to those with special needs participated int he programme and provided care for them.
Mr Al Midfaa explained that Sayf Beladi aimed to help further integrate people with special needs into the community.
