Sharjah postcode system launched



SHARJAH // The first phase of a postal code system in Sharjah has been launched by Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, chairman of the emirate’s Urban Planning Council.

The first postal code sign was installed on Thursday in Al Majaz 2. The system wil be linked to the geographical information systems (GIS).

“This vital and important project comes in line with the vision and directives of Sheikh Sultan, to develop essential projects to serve the emirate’s residents, visitors and future generations,” Sheikh Khalid said.

“The postal code is a key factor to improve the level of services provided to the public. Equipped with the latest technologies, the postal code system will offer easy and fast postal services to both individuals and the business community, which will contribute to strengthening the position of Sharjah as an urban and investment-friendly environment.”
