Saudi student crashed car while on drugs in Dubai, court hears

DUBAI // A Saudi student who was high on drugs crashed his car into a set of railings and another vehicle, the Criminal Court heard on Tuesday.

F A, 26 and his passenger, M A, 20, an Iraqi, were arrested on November 15 last year after being involved in a crash.

Both men were charged with consuming drugs.

F A was also charged with driving while under the influence of drugs, driving recklessly and with causing an accident.

A police report said that F A had taken an overdose of drugs and was referred to hospital for treatment.

He fractured his nose in the crash but escaped serious injury.

Both men were not in court to face charges.

A verdict is expected on March 10.
