A fire safety warning has been issued after emergency services were called out to tackle a shop blaze in Abu Dhabi. Emergency services raced to the commercial premises in Baniyas, Abu Dhabi - managing to extinguish the fire before it spread to adjacent shops. The fire broke out on Friday night, with Abu Dhabi Civil Defence joined at the scene by rapid intervention teams, police patrols and ambulances. It is not known if anyone was injured in the fire. Brig Mohammed Al Ketbi, director general of Abu Dhabi Civil Defence, urged all householders and shop owners to have fire extinguishers on hand in case an emergency situation arises.
