‘Sadist paedophile’ jailed for five years

Forensics report described abuser as an aggressive psychopath who had a tendency to derive sexual gratification from inflicting pain and suffering on children.

DUBAI// A man described as a "sadist paedophile" will spend five years in prison after a Dubai court convicted him of sexually assaulting his 13-year-old niece from the age of nine.

According to prosecution records, the 23-year-old Emirati student had started sexually abusing his niece in 2007. In his first hearing at the Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance, he failed to show up to enter a plea, but on his second hearing he attended to deny the charge.

MY was diagnosed as an aggressive psychopath in a psycho-analysis report carried out by the Dubai police forensics department and was charged with forceful sexual assault.

His Emirati victim, ME, 13, told prosecutors that MY raped her three times in 2007.  At the time, she was unaware of the nature of her uncle's actions, she told prosecutors.

MY denied her allegations and claimed he had sex with her twice against her will but the third time was with her consent. All of the incidents took place at his father's house where he lived because he was unmarried.

In May, 2011, when MY harassed ME again, she turned him down and informed her mother. Her parents, shocked and devastated, called police.

According to law, consent to have intercourse can only be given from the age of 14.

Policeman KA, 35 testified that when he arrested MY, the man confessed to him that he had had sex with his niece but claimed that the last time was according to her own wishes.

A forensics report on the victim showed that signs of the rape were present.

MY's report described him as an aggressive psychopath and said that he suffered from a sexual perversion. According to the report, he had a tendency to derive sexual gratification from inflicting pain and suffering on children.

The report said his condition could have been caused by a lack of faith, parental harshness or to a sexual assault that he might have been subjected to as a child.
