ABU DHABI // The four major roads surrounding Qasr Al Hosn will be closed from 2pm to 8pm on Thursday for the start of the Qasr Al Hosn Festival.
Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street (Airport Road) will be closed between Hamdan and Al Falah streets, and Zayed the First (Electra) and Hamdan streets will be closed between Airport Road and Khalid bin Al Waleed Street.
Al Mashtal Street, an internal street next to to Al Manhal Palace, will also be closed from Airport Road to Mubarak bin Mohammed Street (26th street).
Buses operating along these roads, on routes 9, 10, 32, 34, 44, 54, will be diverted from 2pm to 6pm on Thursday. Normal operations will resume at 8pm.
As a result of the road closures, Abu Dhabi schools were instructed to close early on Thursday so that students can avoid possible traffic jams.
