A private hospital in Ras Al Khaimah is conducting more than 400 coronavirus tests a day as part of the country's efforts to expand screenings. RAK Hospital has set up a separate clinic away from its main building to ensure the safety of all its patients. The specialist unit is able to rapidly diagnose those with the virus, returning accurate results within a maximum of 48 hours. Each patient has to pay Dh370. “We understand that there are patients who may be avoiding hospital visits simply because they fear catching the virus,” said Dr Raza Siddiqui, the hospital's executive director. “However, they can allay all their fears as we provide a complete infection-free atmosphere. “The screening is performed following the highest standard of infection prevention, ensuring personal safety of patients and staff alike. “It is encouraging to see that as awareness regarding Covid-19 becomes more public, there is an increasing number of patients coming in for testing as well. “We hope that this initiative will help create a safer environment for residents of Ras Al Khaimah and beyond.”
