Rain likely for UAE residents heading to the east coast

But no respite from the humidity

Families heading for a weekend getaway to the east coast could be hit with near-tropical conditions as forecasters warn to expect rain and rising humidity.

The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology forecast that the hot and humid weather would continue over the next two days, with humidity levels rising in the morning and night particularly over the coastal regions.

Partly cloudy and hazy conditions were likely over Friday and Saturday due to rain with light winds blowing dust over the eastern and northern areas, the centre said.

The temperatures would stay high between 45°C and 50°C in interior areas, range between 27°C and 45°C in coastal areas and between 28°C and 40°C in the mountains.

Humidity levels could go up to between 70 to 90 per cent across the coast, 60 to 80 per cent in the interior regions and 35 to 60 in the mountains.
