DUBAI // Rain has been forecast for eastern and northern parts of the country on Friday with strong winds kicking up dust and reducing visibility.
This follows reports of scattered showers in parts of the country during Thursday.
“Partly cloudy in general, becoming cloudy at times over some eastern and northern areas, with a chance of some thundery rainfall over those areas,” said a forecast from the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology in Abu Dhabi.
“Light to moderate winds, fresh to strong at times in any clouds activity and causing blowing dust and poor visibility.”
The relative humidity is likely to increase during Friday night and into the early morning over some western areas.
And southeasterly to northeasterly winds could be as high at 45kph at times.
As a result temperatures in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman will range from lows of 15C to highs of 25C.
Forecasters warn that the Oman Sea is likely to be rough to very rough at times especially when there is cloud activity.
Similar conditions will persist over the next 48 hours.
“Light to moderate winds, fresh to strong at times in any clouds activity and causing blowing dust and poor visibility,” added the forecast.
