Prostitute jailed for three months by Dubai court after arguing with customer in cab

The Dubai Criminal Court heard how R A, 28, from Pakistan, was arrested on July 20 after the driver of a taxi she and her customer were in called police after they began having a heated arguing in the back of the cab.

DUBAI // A prostitute who was arrested after she got into an argument with a customer over payment has been locked up for three months.

The Dubai Criminal Court heard how R A, 28, from Pakistan, was arrested on July 20 after the driver of a taxi she and her customer were in called police after they began having a heated argument in the back of the cab.

Prosecutors said that at around midnight police received a report from the driver about the incident near the Crowne Plaza hotel.

Officers arrived and arrested the woman. They said she and her customer were arguing about payment for sex.

“She told us she met her customer at a dance club in a five-star hotel and offered to have sex with him for Dh2,000,” policeman A M, 28, said.

“But he negotiated the price and reduced it to Dh1,500 after which the two headed to the customer’s house.”

The pair hailed a cab but before they reached the man’s house, they argued about the price again.

The driver stopped the car and kicked them out before calling police.

In court last month, the woman was charged with prostituting herself, which she denied.

Records did not explain why her customer was not arrested and charged.

R A will be deported after completing her jail term.
