ABU DHABI // Property developers will not be able to duck questions at the next Cityscape Abu Dhabi taking place later this month. For the first time, those speaking at the event on behalf of the developers at the real estate finance and investment portion of Cityscape will not be allowed to make PowerPoint presentations. Instead, in a move designed to promote transparency, they will have to take direct questions from attendees.

"If they are asked a direct question, then they have to answer," said Shabnam Rawal, managing director with IIR Middle East, which is organising the event from April 19-22 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. "It's not just delivering a presentation and jumping off the stage," Mrs Rawal said. Organisers want to use this Cityscape to help cautious investors locate investment opportunities in a "challenging" environment, said Kosta Petrov, the conference director.
