President orders release of 1,102 prisoners to mark 45th National Day

The move comes as part of the President’s keenness to give pardoned inmates an opportunity to start a new life and ease the suffering of their families.

ABU DHABI // The President, Sheikh Khalifa, on Tuesday ordered the release of 1,102 prisoners to mark the country’s 45th National Day on Friday.

Sheikh Khalifa wanted to give pardoned inmates a second chance at life and ease the suffering of their families.

And Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, released 292 prisoners from Dubai prisons, while Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, has ordered the release of 105.

Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, ordered the release of 122 prisoners and Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Ruler of Ajman, ordered the release of 47.
