DUBAI // Two men has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a woman and demanding a ransom, Dubai police have said.
The 42-year-old Asian victim told police she had been kidnapped by the men and taken to an apartment in a nearby emirate where she was tied up.
Officers at Al Muraqabat police station were alerted after receiving a call from the victim’s friend. The criminal investigation team were able to trace the victim’s telephone to where she was being held.
The two suspects were arrested within two hours of officers releasing the woman.
“A police team raided the apartment where the victim was held and the two suspects were arrested,” said Maj Gen Khalil Al Mansouri, Dubai Police assistant commander-in-chief for criminal investigation.
The two men have been referred to public prosecution.
