Police arrest tailor arrested for selling crystal meth in Abu Dhabi

A tailor who sold crystal meth to his customers out of the shop where he worked in Abu Dhabi has been arrested and had his drugs seized.

In an operation dubbed 'Poisoned Scissors', police raided the shop and confiscated six kilograms of the methamphetamine after being tipped off about the tailor's illegal activities.

Col Taher Al Dhahiri, director of the Drug Control Directorate, said the tailor used his profession as a front to conceal his drug dealing.

“During questioning, the tailor admitted that the crystal meth seized in his possession was for trafficking and acted as an illegal source of income,” he said.

Colonel Al Dhahiri called on the public to report any such suspected cases to police so as to protect the community.

The case was referred to Public Prosecution for legal action.
