DUBAI // About 400 licence plates will be available in an online auction that starts next Sunday, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said.
Bidding will start at 8am on October 30 and continue for six days at the RTA’s 43rd online auction.
Registration for the auction will be on Sunday, October 23.
The licence plates run from G through to S and comprise between three and five digits.
Those who want to participate in the auction should register at the RTA website www.rta.ae or contact the call centre on 8009090.
Potential bidders must pay Dh5,000 as a security deposit before the auction begins, the RTA said.
Earlier this month, a Dubai-based Indian businessman, Balwinder Sahani, was in the news when he bought the licence plate D5 for Dh33m at an RTA auction.
