FUJAIRAH // An Emirati driver was killed and his two compatriot passengers seriously injured when a lorry crashed into their vehicle in Masafi.
The three were returning to Fujairah city on Friday when the accident happened. The crash was reported to authorities at 4.15pm, said Fujairah Police.
“Police rushed to the scene, where it was apparent that the 43-year-old Asian truck driver, M W, took a fast U-turn without checking the road and caused the collision,” said a police spokesman.
The 22-year-old Emirati driver, R M, died instantly, while R R, 20, and F S, 18, were critically injured.
