Four Emirati and one Iranian man allegedly assaulted CID officers and intentionally ran two over with a car.
The incident took place last Thursday after the officers tried to break up a fight between the men, in Al Rawda, Ajman, Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister paper of The National reported.
All five have been charged with physical assault, resisting arrest and attempting to flee the scene of a crime.
Ajman Police said the two injured officers have been discharged from hospital.
