Omani Police said one of the victims, an Emirati woman, was on her way to Muscat with her three sons when the family car collided with a Hyundai carrying an Omani family of five.

The Emirati victim was married to an Omani national and lived in Masnaa.

A third vehicle, a lorry, was involved in the collision after trying to swerve out of the way, Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister paper of The National, reported.
