Abu Dhabi Police install new radar to help limit accidents

The Traffic and Patrols Department of Abu Dhabi Police will today install a new radar across from Abu Dhabi University, on the Abu Dhabi - Al Ain Road. The radar will help to reduce road accidents and is part of a larger traffic safety plan, said First Lieutenant Marzuk Said Al Zaabi, director of the Road Monitoring Unit. The speed limit for the new radar has been set at 141km, the Lt said. The radar will, aside from monitoring people who speed, be able to detect if cars overtake at the curve of the road and if overtaking cars are not given way.
