ABU DHABI // Visiting the city and left your stuff in a taxi? A new guide for tourists will tell you how to retrieve it.
The brochure for visitors, published in 15 languages, has advice on everything from currency exchange rates and taxi fares to codes of acceptable conduct in public.
The idea is to simplify tourists' experiences of the city and to create a sense of familiarity and safety, said Col Rashid Bourshid, head of the CID at Abu Dhabi Police, who have produced the new guide.
The brochure also containes useful phone numbers and addresses, and contact information for Abu Dhabi Police's tourism section.
Col Bourshid encouraged tourists not to hesitate to ask for help in an emergency by calling 999. For information, visitors can also call free on 800 2626.
The brochures will be distributed to tourist destinations around the capital and will be available at Abu Dhabi International Airport, Mina Zayed, hotel apartments, embassies and consulates.
