A new editor-in-chief has been appointed at Arabic-language newspaper Al Ittihad, which is owned by Abu Dhabi Media, the company that publishes The National.
Mohammed Al Hammadi, a long-serving reporter and opinion writer at the newspaper, who was also in charge of the Arabic edition of the National Geographic magazine and has held several other senior positions at the company, was appointed to the post on Tuesday following the resignation of Rashid Al Araimi, who ran the paper for seven years.
"I'm certain that Al Ittihad will be able to continue its success and to offer a professional media product that meets the expectations of our readership," Mr Al Hammadi said.
