New Al Zahra Hospital Dubai promises the 'highest quality'

DUBAI // Al Zahra Private Hospital is set to open a new 200-bed multi-specialty hospital in Dubai early next year.

The Al Zahra Hospital Dubai, on Sheikh Zayed Road in Al Barsha, will be in addition to their 100-bed Al Zahra Hospital, Sharjah, opened in 1981, and the Al Zahra Medical Centre, opened in 1993.

In preparation for the opening of the hospital the Al Zahra administration is putting all the Al Zahra Dubai's employees - from doctors to housekeepers - through an in-depth training developed by a US company whose origins are affiliated with Harvard Medical International, formally the international arm of Harvard Medical School.

Longwood Health Systems Consulting have brought in specialists to advise Al Zahra staff on hospital infrastructure and policies.

They also created a tailored series of week-long workshops for the hospital aimed at ensuring the highest quality of service, best practices for patient safety, improved patient care, patient and family satisfaction, and identifying opportunities for ongoing improvement.

"This level of training is an integral part of any modern hospital but is still quite unique to this region," said Dr James F Pelegano, a consultant at Longwood HSC.

"This is partly because it requires a significant investment, and the fact that this being driven and attended by the hospital's senior leadership and department heads is a true testament to its dedication to high quality care and service."

Vacancies ranging from ICU nurse and anaesthesia technician to female messenger and cashier are still available.
