FUJAIRAH // Bike week kicked off this weekend with more than 500 bikers from the GCC gathering for a chance to connect with each other and celebrate one of their passions.
The three-day event featured entertainment and charitable activities and a 25-kilometre parade to express gratitude to the President, Sheikh Khalifa, under the initiative “Thank You Khalifa”.
“One of the many reasons for choosing Fujairah is the combination between the mountains and the ocean for a very unique landscape and climate,” said Isa Al Zobari, from Star Events Management in Bahrain. “Another reason is the support that we had from the officials. We aim to promote the area and encourage tourism.
“Bikers came all the way from their homeland riding their motorcycles,” he said. “It is a long journey for most of them, but they all enjoyed being here.”
Crowds came from around the country to see the event and visit the heritage village, which added a sense of cultural belonging.
“What a great day, full of adrenalin,” said Kareem Al Swadi, 26, an Emirati. “I feel so excited and thrilled today watching this huge number of bikes in one place.
“I liked the idea of combining heritage with modernism.”
On the last day, a fundraising charity ride was held to benefit Fujairah Red Crescent.
