More than 300 convert during Ramadan in Dubai

DUBAI // More than 330 people converted to Islam during Ramadan, it was announced.

The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai said on Wednesday that 330 people converted, among them 92 males and 238 females.

The conversions came amid a programme at the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Islamic Culture on interfaith dialogue. The programme included lectures, iftar meals and other activities.

The department said the programme received good attendance, particularly from non-Muslims.

The department determines Islamic affairs policy and charitable works in the emirate, spreads Islamic knowledge and culture, and raises religious awareness in the community. It also reviews and prints the Quran as well as other religious publications.
