Men who dumped prostitute’s body in desert are jailed by Dubai court

Dubai Criminal Court was told the 19-year-old woman was killed for trying to run away from the brothel where she worked.

DUBAI // Three men who dumped a prostitute’s body in Umm Al Quwain’s desert have each been sentenced to a year in jail.

They were convicted of hiding the corpse of the woman, 19, who was killed for trying to escape her brothel. A municipality worker found the body on June 26 last year. It was missing an arm, which was said to have been eaten by stray dogs.

The three Pakistani convicts, who are 26, 27 and 37, admitted to hiding the body when they appeared in court in February.

The woman’s killer left the UAE on the day that they disposed of the body. He was sentenced to jail in his absence.

“Our investigations confirmed the woman was brought to the country to work in the sex industry and that she was killed in a building in Al Riffa,” a policeman said.

The convicts said the killer had called them to seek their help with disposing the body.

They offered a security guard of a building that housed the brothel free sex with prostitutes if he switched off the security cameras while they removed the body, which was in a plastic bag.

The men drove the body to the desert and dumped it there.

They will be deported after serving their jail terms.
