Two armed, masked men raided a pharmacy in Al Taawun area in Sharjah at about 1.15am on Monday, reported Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister paper of The National.
The men, one armed with a meat cleaver and the other with a large knife, demanded money from pharmacy staff.
They then escaped in a car with the cash before officers from Al Buhaira Police Station arrived at the scene.
Investigators took fingerprints and statements from pharmacy staff and viewed CCTV footage. The two men are still at large, according to Al Ittihad.
