Marriage Fund tells FNC wedding halls not their responsibility

The fund sent a letter in lieu of a representative, which stated their sole responsibility was to grooms and for couples counselling.

The Marriage Fund has declined to answer an FNC question about the lack of wedding halls in the country.

A letter from the fund read out at the council’s meeting yesterday said it was not responsible for building or renovating wedding halls and requested that the question be directed to another agency.

The fund said its responsibilities were to provide financial aid to grooms and marriage counselling to couples.

But Salem Al Ameri, the member from Abu Dhabi who posed the question, asked how this was possible and requested that the question be resent.
