DUBAI // A man who denied he was the father of a 4-year-old girl has had his argument thrown out after it was shown that he applied for the child’s birth certificate.
Dubai personal status court rejected his case, which he brought after his ex-wife claimed he was the father.
The man said he divorced his wife on September 5, 2009, and that the child was born two years later.
Prosecutors made inquiries with the Control Medicine Department in Dubai as well as the hospital where the child was born. They also referred that man to the criminal laboratory to undergo a paternity test.
Personal status court employees managed to obtain the requested documents, which proved that the father was the person who applied for the child’s birth certificate, after which the court decided to reject the father’s case.
