A man raped a school pupil after the boy had been gang raped by his schoolmates, Dubai Criminal Court was told.
The Emirati pupil, 15, told prosecutors that on the morning of September 26 — the day after he had been raped numerous times by his schoolmates — he received a call from the 25-year-old Emirati defendant asking him to meet.
"He knows my schoolmates, he is their friend, and when he called me I thought they must have told him what they did to me," said the boy.
He said he originally declined to meet the man then agreed for fear of being exposed by him.
"I felt scared that if I refused to meet with him and he knew what was done to me, he might tell everyone, so I met with him," said the pupil, who met with the man and entered his car.
While in the car, the defendant told him he knew about the rapes the day before. He then took him to his house where he allegedly raped him before dropping the boy off to his school in Al Rashidiya.
The pupil reported his schoolmates to police. They were charged with rape at the Juveniles Court and during prosecution questioning, the boy told investigators about the second incident involving the 25-year-old man.
According to court records the boy was very tense and that "due to the trauma caused by his friends assaulting him, he was completely focused on what his schoolmates did to him, rather than what the 25-year-old defendant did".
At Dubai Criminal Court on Sunday, the defendant denied a charge of rape.
His next hearing is scheduled for May 3.
