DUBAI // A Pakistani man raped a 19-year-old compatriot on a rooftop after threatening him with a knife.
The 31-year-old defendant, who works as a driver, called the victim on October 15 at around 11.30pm and asked him to meet up for tea.
Both of them went to the roof of a building in Hor Al Anz where the defendant pulled out a knife and threatened to kill the victim if he did not have sex with him, Dubai Criminal Court was told.
“I got scared and took off my clothes when he said that he will kill me if I didn’t let him have his way with me,” said the victim, who reported the incident to police the next morning.
Police arrested the defendant at the Al Ghuwaifat border crossing.
An Emirati police officer said the defendant admitted to having sex with the younger man.
“He said it was consensual sex and paid the victim Dh50, adding that the victim is used to having sex with others,”
The driver denied a rape charge and told the court he was out of the country at the time of the incident.
“Me and the defendant have a personal problem, and he filed the report to get back at me,” he said.
The next hearing is on January 12.
