Man jailed six months for molesting boy, 13, in Dubai

DUBAI // A man will spend six months in jail for molesting a 13-year-old boy then threatening to shame him if he did not persuade his school friends to have sex with him.

“If you do not bring me some students from your school to have sex with, I will shame you in front of your father and tell him that you have been having sex with many men from your neighbourhood,” Emirati K J, 24, told his victim.

Prosecutors told Dubai Criminal Court last December that at about 7pm on August 21 last year Emirati schoolboy T E was performing Al Maghrib prayers in a mosque near his home when the attacker saw him and approached.

“He told me that we can go to a football field in Mirdif so he can show me a team he had set up and I can join them,” said the boy, who went home to get his mother’s permission but she did not allow him to go with the man unless he took his two brothers.

“He said that my brothers can come so we went in his car but when we got to the field he had me stay with him in the car, claiming he wanted me to join him to pick up another player,” said the 13-year-old.

Instead, he was taken to a petrol station where he was molested and threatened.

The boy said the defendant told him he knew he had been having sex with other men and that he knows who they were and unless he helps him lure other boys to have sex with him, he would shame the child.

The boy told his father when he got home that night and the father called police.

The defendant had denied threatening and molesting the boy in court but was found guilty.
