A man who sexually assaulted a student while she was walking her grandmother will spend three months in jail before being deported from the country.
The assault occurred on October 17 last year near Kuwaiti Mosque in Naif area when the 19-year-old Emirati was out for a walk with her grandmother.
"He grabbed me from behind and I screamed and immediately chased him., People who heard my cry for help joined in the chase and we caught him," said the student, who called police.

The grandmother told police she did not see what happened but heard her granddaughter scream then run after the man. "She later told me what he did," the 50-year-old Emirati said.
A policeman told the court that he arrived to the scene to find a crowd surrounding the offender and the women screaming at him.
"I took him into custody and he did not respond when I asked him if he had touched the student or not, but he was drunk,' said the Emirati officer.
The Pakistani defendant, 43, was not present in court to face thea sexual assault charge.
On Tuesday he was convicted and sentenced to jail to be followed by deportation.
