Man jailed by Dubai court for molesting neighbour

DUBAI // A worker was found guilty of molesting his neighbour then pushing her down a flight of stairs.

Dubai Criminal Court sentenced the Indian, 32, to three months in prison to be followed by deportation.

On his first court appearance, he denied a sexual assault charge but admitted consuming alcohol without a licence and working for someone other than his legal sponsor.

“I slipped and fell and touched her breast by mistake,” he told judges.

On March 23 this year, the Filipina victim was walking to her flat in Al Satwa when she passed her neighbour on the stairs.

“He stood aside so I could pass but as I was near him he touched my breast,” the 25-year-old woman said.

She slapped the man but he pushed her down the stairs and fled before being caught by neighbours who heard her scream.
