Man found not guilty of filming up woman’s skirt in Dubai supermarket

DUBAI // A manager accused of using his mobile phone to try to film up a woman’s skirt has been acquitted of sexual assault by Dubai Criminal Court.

In a hearing last month, prosecutors said the female victim, whose nationality and age were not in records, was at the Plus Point Supermarket in Jumeirah Beach Residence on January 5 this year when the 57-year-old Briton tried to film up her skirt.

She said he dropped a pack of cigarettes, then placed his phone between her legs as he bent down to pick them up.

The woman’s 29-year-old friend tried to pull the phone out the manager’s hand. Police arrived and arrested him.

He denied a charge of sexual assault in April. He has been found not guilty by the court.
